CT TALENT: ARKATEX SHOWCASE TRUE PROFESSIONALISM

I would like to shout out ARKATEX for good music and a very professional work ethic. I ask many CT artists for content to post on my blog, and they tell me"yea ill get you the links and bio" and then never do, for you up-coming artists that's something you should have ready before someone even asks. ARKATEX did. Within minutes they emailed me pics, a press kit and links. They often talk about how important the business aspect is and I am glad they have their shit together. Facebook Manipulates Timeline In "Orwellian" Fashion Mind Control Experiment

I had to share this article from CNN, and there are many others, please check it out for yourself. Think about how many people could have been harmed in this experiment to ultimately help Facebook retain users for ad's and revenue. We live in a society where people wanna ban guns because of shooting incidents, but ignore the abuse of medication, the improper handling of mental health issues and things like this, which have a major impact on certain people.

  

Internet outraged by Facebook's 'creepy' mood experiment

Everyone has a bad day on occasion. But what if Facebook made it worse -- on purpose, and without telling you?

Internet users have reacted angrily to news that Facebook researchers manipulated the content some users were shown in an attempt to gauge their emotional response.

For one week in early 2012, Facebook (FB, Tech30) changed the content mix in the News Feeds of almost 690,000 users. Some people were shown a higher number of positive posts, while others were shown more negative posts.
The results of the experiment, conducted by researchers from Cornell, the University of California, San Francisco and Facebook, were published this month in the prestigious academic journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Science.
The study found that users that were shown more negative content were slightly more likely to produce negative posts. Users in the positive group responded with more upbeat posts.
So it worked! Facebook was able to successfully change the emotional state of its users. While the mood changes were small, the researchers argued that the findings have major implications given the size and scale of the social network.
Facebook's term of service gives the company permission to conduct this kind of research, but many users have reacted with anger at what they say is a dangerous social experiment. There is no indication that the 690,000 subjects were asked if they would like to take part in the study.
Facebook uses an algorithm to determine which of roughly 1,500 available posts will show up in a user's News Feed. The company frequently changes this program to modify the mix of news, personal stories and advertisements seen by users.

So we just began recording tracks for "The Conn-viction Tapes" my next major project, produced entirely by yours truly, that will be released early 2015. Raheem “General P” Vann-Davidson was born in Bridgeport, CT in May 13, 1989. Named Lil’ P at the time, was an original member and founder of the music group Test the Bee (TTB). In 2004, “Lil’ P” released his debut EP entitled, Why P? distributing over 1,000 copies! In 2008, Swagg Boyz, an affiliate of Full Circle Ent. was introduced to P with opportunities for advancement in his career. During this time he signed with the independent label. P Quickly rose to the top of Full Circle Ent. earning the rank of GENERAL. P decided to merge the two names, hence the name GENERAL P. I am glad to announce we officially begin recording records for "The Conn-viction Tapes" this coming Monday, June 23! I would like to shout out BeatBox Studios and Vertygo on the mixing board! It's only appropriate to start with family, so long time friend, business partner and co-owner of CT Corporate Takeover, Rock will be the first artist. We will document the entire process of this project to represent the way CT artists need to come together and collaborate. Stay tuned for more details.....

The Conn-viction Tapes: Williano is The 3rd Artist Officially Accepted

On behalf of CT Corporate Takeover, I would like to formally announce Williano will be featured as one of the CT artists on "The Conn-viction Tapes". I was given Williano's CD at the last Sully's event I attended and honestly think it was one of the best CD's I have listening to from a CT artist in a long time. I am excited to have him on "The Conn-viction Tapes"! He will be joined on the project by Theo Manchyld and Chosen among others soon to be announced! More details coming soon!

Oscar Black has been a fixture in the CT Hip Hop scene for several years. Born and raised in Hartford Conn., he has been rapping since he was just in the 5th grade. CT HIPHOP EVENTS: MIC ON DECK - UNIFIED HIP HOP SERIES

LISTEN UP CT! Mic On Deck is one of the illest, if not the illest promoter I am lucky enough to work with in CT. Every event he throws has a great turn out and the energy in the building is positive and constructive. Really great events to network at. If you are anybody into hip-hip and live in CT you need to make it to these events. SeeS will be in the building; I try to make it to all Mic On Deck events, in the past many good things have come from the networking that takes place.
