FUCK IT: IM "FEELING MYSELF"

Song: "Feeling Myself"
Artist: SeeS
Producer: Yopp
Mixtape: SeeS No Evil

This is a record I did a few years ago. Produced by Yopp, written and performed by myself.

When I talk about "out of the box" records and how hip-hop is fun, creative, and innovative, it's this type of song that might not always get the spotlight but as the artist I feel this song represents creative license and expression and so much embodies the reason I rap on a personal level, for me. It's expression.

"But you think I (F)ive a (G)uck, or give a what? , you (F)other (M)ucker" - SeeS (Feeling Myself)

LYRICAL BREAKDOWN: SeeS "Music Likes Me"

As an artist to me the most important part of a rap song is the lyrics. I love beats, I love swag and delivery, I love every aspect of hip-hop, down to the DJ and graffiti artist, but I hold the ability to put words together the closest to my heart. I consider my greatest strength being a wordsmith. The song could have deep meaning, it could be filled with punch-lines, it could tell a story, or could just express a feeling but the words chosen and how they art put together is an art within the art of the song. It is this art I appreciate the most.

Often people say my lyrics are too deep, or two quick, and they think people are missing what I am saying, or not seeing the art behind the art. Lyrical breakdown is where I am going to break down the lyrics to my songs. Please enjoy. - SeeS (S Double E S)

                      Lyrics

Yo, Music knows no better, I'd say it likes me/
It never leaves me like a good wifey/
It needs me cause I treat it so nicely/
Wherever I am, I come home nightly/

To where the Mic be, ready to get it hyphy/
Ahead of my buzz by light-years, I might be/
Too advanced for the game for hata's to like me/
I be climbing the ladder for Jacob to ice me/

So I can make they brain freeze like Ice-E/
Packing more lyrical vitamins then high-C's/
The bass beats in my blood like I-V's/
So you better have heart if you try me/

Stay current you'll find yourself in high seas/
The deadliest catch would be trying to find SeeS/
The deadliest match would be me against me/
The readiest batch I smoke soon as I see/

The heaviest bat I swing then Im home free/
You ready in fact, was born ready to rap/
The gat already cocked, block already mapped/
Bitch already macked, semi-automatic when strapped/

The beats tracked, the tracks fat, smoke that/
Ease back, this raps crack you'll phene that/
You'll be back, this aint Riplieys, believe that/
---- or not, but you will/

The flows just too ill, the boy is too skilled/
the golden gun, 1 shot but 2 kills/
Number 2 becomes 1, if number 1 gets killed/
Number 1 better run (whys that) cause 2 kills/

Put the body in the trunk they riding on 2 wheels/
I'm eating so good my breakfast is 2 meals/
I'm twice as good they should give me 2 deals/
or is it I'm 2 real and most of them 2 fake/

It's painful when they spit like toothaches/
break em off a slice, I'm baking em 2 cakes/
I'm baked of 2 1/8ths by a quarter past/
2 late if you coming for the half/

And I'm a take it all if you funny with the math/
Used to get laughed at, but now I get to laugh when I cash that/
Plus dudes sound "fag" when they call me half-ass/
but to keep the hate off my back I'm past that/

But don't think I'm-a pass that/
Punch-lines so fast you can't catch that/
Never never land, like Peter "peanut butter" Pan hands/
Heat a, but a never never SeeS fan, never need a hand/

From a hata, never needed hands/
my music beat em up, my words take the stand/
and I'm a bear witness right where I stand/
Cause like I told em, I'm a die where I am/

Production Shoot: "Champion" Official Video

SeeS - "Champion"
I'm glad to announce we are more then half-way done with shooting the video for "Champion" and we are gearing up to blast it out to the world in the next few weeks. Shout out to Vertygo who is shooting the video and making this possible from a production standpoint. Wait till you see what this guy can do with a camera.

The song "Champion" was created to be inspirational and embody the rewards of hard work and dedication. I didn't want to create a video in which I am crowning myself "Champion" because that is not how I wrote the song.

"You don't need ME to answer this/ In the mirror YOU should see a Champion"

I wanted to showcase the motivation behind why I make music and the ability I believe music has to impact and change peoples lives, most times without the artist even being aware of the power his/her music has. I wanted the main focus, however, and ultimately the credit to belong to the person who was motivated by the music and put the work in to transform their character and ultimately become a Champion.

In the video a grieving, down-on-his luck man is struggling with the recent death of his father. Memories of him boxing with his dad as a child, combined with unintentionally stumbling across the song "Champion" on a CD on the ground, inspire the man to kick his drinking habit and pick up boxing to feel connected to his father. The newly inspired man works several jobs to pay for boxing lessons and gloves and trains until he is ready to fight...

PRODUCER SPOTLIGHT: EYERAP!

This is Producer Spotlight!

Producer Spotlight defines the saying "Favor for a Favor"...I only feature music from producers who I have had the pleasure to network with. Serious artists who understand to get support you must show support...I too am one of those serious artists and Blog Spotlight is dedicated to the artists who reached out/or reached back to me...and have DOPE BEATS!

This Producer Spotlight is on "EYERAP"!

I have had the pleasure of networking with EYERAP on soundcloud. EYERAP is an Emcee/Producer out of NY, One half of the group The Synthesis Project. I think he is one of the illest producers I have reached out to and I'm glad to feature him on my blog cause his beats need to be heard. If you like that real nyc style hip-hop. If you remember what Hip-Hop truly sounded like, the sound we all grew up loving, then LISTEN to this producer right here.

Gunplay Fights With 50 Cents Entourage (Video)

The story so far, as I have heard it, is that Gunplay was jumped by 5 members of 50 Cent’s entourage. This video picks up after he got jumped and shows Gunplay fighting one guy, getting pepper sprayed by the police, and then running towards 2 Chainz trailer. Gunplay was then arrested.

I'm not gonna take sides because I don't want to speculate and I wasn't there but I will say this. Gunplay might be crazy, but he is one of the realist rappers out there. I have had the pleasure of meeting Gunplay and working on a track with him and he is a good dude. ROOOLLLLIIINNNN!  Check out the video below of Gunplay and I with Hugo Diaz in Miami.

It was a pleasure working with everyone making this song at FantoMusic Studios! This song has one of the illest beats I have ever heard and everyone goes hard on the verses. I have had many people tell me they cant even decide which verse is the illest. Calliope Muse did her thing on the hook and it sounds great! I am always hyping the songs we do, but promotion aside, this is one of those songs you need to listen to a few times!!

If you like it please share it with your friends and join us in promoting this track to the world!

The Largest "SeeS" Marketing Plan Ever Has Officially Begun for "Feeling Like A Champion"

There are defining moments in everyone's life, moments that when they happen you already know you will look back upon them, moments of importance, moments that only years of hard work and dedication can provide....THIS IS ONE OF THOSE PIVOTAL DEFINING MOMENTS IN MY LIFE!

I have dedicated over the last 10 years of my life to music. I didn't do it to say I was the best, I didn't do it to make tons of money, nor did I do it for popularity, I did it because of passion, and because it helped me through times when nobody else was there. This journey has evolved and brought me to a place I never thought possible and given me the opportunity and chance to take it further then I could have ever imagined! Now my biggest priority is to get my voice heard so my music can help and inspire others in the way it continues to help me. Please show your support, it is the fans that give my voice volume.

With that said...THE LARGEST "SeeS" MARKETING PLAN EVER HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN FOR "FEELING LIKE A CHAMPION"!!

Over a year after the release of my EP "SeeS Control", my first official single "Feeling Like A Champion" is finally getting the marketing needed to properly promote the record, but I still need everyones help, in fact more then ever!

I have also spoken to PD's and DJ's nationwide who have shown their support for the record and who we are working with in regards to a national roll-out of the record. "Feeling Like A Champion" has also received some great exposure on SINTERNET as well as online blogs. A licensing agreement has also been signed for this record and it is being shopped around for licensing. I am also currently working on a MUSIC VIDEO for the song that we will be shooting in the next month!

Now that you are informed, I need your help more then ever, this is my shot at making my dream come true!!! If you are willing to help me please do the following (YES it does REALLY make a difference):

Video of the day: NAS "Accident Murderer"

Nas is killing the game with his new CD "Life is Good"! This song is super dope and reminds me of when Rap was still called Hip Hop. Make sure you listen to this joint if you want to remember what Hip Hop used to sound like...seems Nas is the only artist dope enough to not follow the trends and stick to what he loves...true lyrical hip hop. Thank you Nas this is refreshing!

SeeS Performs "DREAMER" Live in Brooklyn NYC

There is nothing in the world I love more then rapping on stage. I am grateful for every opportunity to perform and never feel as alive as when I'm on stage. I have always been a dreamer and as a kid I would always rap in my room imagining I was on stage in front of a crowd. It was this vision that drove me and motivated me in my darkest hours. When I'm on stage I hope the crowd enjoys my performance but the truth is I am the one that enjoys it the most and regardless of what hata's say, I was never doing it for them in the first place.

In this video I am performing my song "DREAMER" produced by Platinum Producer Hugo Diaz and Hulyonthebeat!

Video Of The Day "Mercy" - Kayne West

The video of the day is MERCY!

I think the video for this is interesting, and the beat is super dope! Lyrically I think this song isn't as much as it is hyped up to be but if you don't listen to the words still sounds dope. Either way I think the video is worth watching so check it out!

Nas Tells Us Why "Life Is Good"

The Queens rapper, Nas, has been in the game long enough to figure it out! He knows what he wants and does just that. For Nas "Life is Good" and many people are glad to see him making a comeback to the mainstream, even though his music is anything but! I love how he is still making hits that sound true to who he is and sound like true New York hip hop!

SeeS Speaks: "A Good Man" Produced by Fantom of the Beat

FantoMusic and my label CT Corporate Takeover decided to LEAK "A Good Man", a future release off my next album "SeeS Between The Lines", simply because I fell in love with the finished track and didn't want to wait to put it out to the world!

I have been a long time fan of "the art of storytelling" especially in rap music. Some of my favorite songs of all time (Nas "Undying love", 2 Pac "Brenda's Got A Baby", Slick Rick "Children's Story", and the list goes on) highlight the strength and power of good storytelling. Commercial rap these days has departed from this style, in my opinion mostly in part to peoples shortened attention spans and obsession with money, sex and violence in short doses, usually out of context and without consequence.

"A Good Man" also plays on themes of money, sex, and violence, since it is what plagues our society as a whole, but puts them into a context that shows the intended as well as unintended consequences of peoples actions. The message is that life is unfair and doesn't guarantee a happy ending and often times the "Good Man (or women)" will pay the consequences for the actions of the people they associate with. The moral of the story is to be careful who you love because the things they do directly affects you. I also wrote this song to women to convey the power of a women's love and how when manipulated purposely can destroy both bad and good men.

As a writer my goal was not to make a catchy commercial song, but to make a song that draws you in, paints a visual picture, gets you connected to the good character and then provides a detailed account of what happens to that character who's only mistake was falling in love with the wrong girl.

Check it out to "SeeS" what happens! Please share with your friends and comment to show your support!

Video of the Day: Nas and Raekwon - Rich and Black

The Video of the Day is Nas and Raekwon "Rich and Black"!

Thank God Nas is making a comeback and bringing that real "hip-hop" back with him. I don't think much needs to be said about this video. Its DOPE!!!

If you are a true fan of hip hop nobody needs to tell you to watch this video Im sure you have already pressed play!

Lil Wayne flexes his power on Hot 97 - Cancels all YMCMB performances

Lil Wayne made the choice to cancel all YMCMB performances at Hot 97 Summer Jam after Hot 97 personality Peter Rosenberg had this to say about headliner Nicki Minaj.

“I know there are some chicks here waiting to sing ‘Starships’ later, I’m not talking to y’all right now, f*ck that bullsh*t, I’m here to talk about real Hip-Hop sh*t.”

Personally I agree with the statement, but think it was said in the wrong context and was unprofessional, especially from an employee of the radio station (Hot 97) that hired her as the headliner of one of the biggest concerts of the year. Lil Wayne has every right in my opinion to stand up for his artists and cancel all the performances. You do not get paid for a performance to be dissed by someone in the organization that hired you.

I cannot imagine how mad Hot 97 must be having lost many of their biggest acts, Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, and more YMCMB artists. When you have power you must know when to use it, I would have done the same thing that Lil Wayne did. He just ensured Peter Rosenberg wont be hearing the end of this anytime soon from his "higher-ups".

Video Of The Day: Jada Ft. Styles P "Dope Boys"

Today the video of the day is Jadakiss Ft. Styles P "Dope Boys".

The song and video are dope, but what else would you expect from these two. I have been a long fan of Jada and Styles and I'm feeling this new track and the video is crazy as well. Make sure you check it out if you are a fan.

This song is off the "consignment" mixtape which I have heard good things about and will review once I have heard the whole thing!

Drake Speaks out about Hata's

I must admit the more and more Drake grabs my attention the more and more he has proven himself as a legitimate and talented MC who's career will not be short lived. I will also admit I have become a Drake fan and its not just to hop on the bandwagon but because I respect his values as a man and his image as a rapper for not being as consistently negative and violent as many of the rappers today.

In a recent interview Drake sits down with Sway and tells us the advice Floyd Mayweather gave him.  Floyd told him,
"There will be days I walk in the arena and people might cheer.  Then there will be days I walk in the arena and people might boo.  But, it all sounds the same to me because it’s all just noise that let me know I’m still relevant."
Now that's good advice...period. So to all my haters, keep making that noise!!

Get More: Music News

I also have a message for all of my hata's and I have put it in a song called "Hata Hata", its an older track of mine produced by close friend YOPP, let me know what you think!! Thanks again for following the blog! - SeeS

NEW 50 CENT VIDEO "MURDER ONE"

Fifty Cent spits FIRE on this track Murder One which is off  The Lost Tapes mixtape.

50 Cent sounds like the old 50 that I think everyone will agree was one of the illest! I hope to hear more tracks like this in the future and am glad to hear that he is doing better, out of the hospital, and will continue to promote his new mixtape "The Lost Tapes", which for the record shares the title of my favorite Nas mixtape, which I also highly recommend you become familiar with!

On a personal note I have just finished my latest track "A Good Man" with "Fantom of the Beat" Platinum Producer of 50 Cent's and Lil Kim's "Magic Stick"!! Check it out, its the song of the week!!!

Nas Drops Video for Song "Daughters"

As many of you are familiar with I have a section called "When Hip Hop Was Positive".  I am glad to share this Nas video with you as proof that at least Nas is trying to keep Hip Hop positive.

Nas did his thing on this track and I'm glad to hear it getting as much radio play as it has. If you love this song like me be sure to check out the video below!!

Gotta admit on a personal note, this song only confirms why I lose sleep at night thinking about having a daughter in the future. "God gets us back, he makes us have precious little girls"- Nas

Blog Spotlight: Son-Ray "Finding Me"

This is Blog Spotlight!

Blog Spotlight defines the saying "Favor for a Favor"...I only feature music from people who I have had the pleasure to network with. Serious artists who understand to get support you must show support...I too am one of those serious artists and Blog Spotlight is dedicated to the artists who reached out/or reached back to me!

This Blog Spotlight is on Son-Ray a dope artist I have had the pleasure to work with and network with who you should be on the lookout for!

Son-Ray is prepping for the release of his new EP, "Face Value" on May 29th. The Brooklyn born artist kept it true to the game and created a banger. The first single, "Music Is My Life" featuring another Brooklyn artist Skyzoo, basically tells the story of a dedicated artist. With Babieqirl on the hook, the track takes you on a lyrical journey of a day in the life and grind of Son-Ray. Check out the track and look out for the EP later this month. Please post the following cover art photo and feel free to either download and share the track or just the link.

Check out his music video for "Finding Me" with a cameo by myself!

Will Smith Slaps Reporter on Red Carpet - AWESOME

I have been a Will Smith fan my whole life since Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and I am glad people aren't criticizing him heavily for this cause the guy trying to kiss him was out of line and Will Smith did not slap him that hard.

Will Smith is known as one of the nicest guys in Hollywood but when a reporter crosses the line and tries to kiss Will Smith on the mouth on the Red Carpet of MIB3, Will shows him that he's not having it. Way to go Will Smith, even when angered you know not to cross the line, I might of punched that guy in the face.

NEW FIRE: Chiddy Bang "Mind Your Manners"

THIS IS FIRE!!! I LOVE THE TRACK AND THE VIDEO IS GENIUS!!!

If you haven't heard this song or seen this video you need to take a few minutes cause it is so original and dope. I wonder how long it took to edit this video. CRAZY!

Nice to hear a track and see a video that has a "fun" swag to it and so much originality!

CT Artist SeeS (S Double E S) Starts New Record Label, CT Corporate Takeover, and Launches New Website, www.SeeSHipHop.com

Here is a press release that was written about me online I would like to share with you as a reason to never give up on your dreams!

CT's own local artist Scott Sheldon, known by stage name SeeS, is beginning to make moves in the music industry and has begun to welcome the much overdue support that his talent warrants.

In the past two years SeeS has been able to accomplish an amazing amount for an unknown and unsigned artist, and because of this work that will soon change.

In the last two years SeeS has started his own record label to promote himself, CT Corporate Takeover, collaborated with Cappadonna and Inspectah Deck from Wu-Tang as well as multiple platinum producers, created an official EP "SeeS Control", secured a distribution deal with Bungalo/Universal Music Group for two of the singles, produced a top notch music video for his single "Mad At Me" (Feat. Diana Fuentes), produced two commercials for Mega Education that aired on Comcast in CT, completed interviews and got air play on Hot 93.7 the #1 Hip Hop station in CT, and managed to design and manage a fully functional website, www.seeshiphop.com, where all of these accomplishments can be seen and heard.

A true prodigy, SeeS has been writing and performing Hip-Hop songs since the age of 13 (now 25). SeeS was raised in the affluent suburbs of Hartford, CT, not exactly a 'hotbed' for Hip-Hop music. But this ironic environment simply serves to underscore his phenomenal natural talent. In the mid-90's while Hip-Hop's wave of popularity was exploding worldwide, SeeS, a young adopted teen living in privileged suburbia, "struggled mightily with identity, individuality and sense of purpose." Hip-Hop culture captivated him. He loved it. It offered him an outlet and the freedom to express himself without limits.

Here is my latest released song, I just recorded this and can use all the help I can get to promote it. Thank You to all my fans who have and are helping me realize dreams do come true!

50 Cent Hospitalized For Stomach Virus

On May 16th rapper 50 Cent was hospitalized, reportedly for a stomach virus. During the day 50 Cent tweeted about his condition, while he didn't provide many details about the hospital visit he reassured fans there would be no delay in his music.

50 tweeted "I'm in the hospital but my gangsta grillz LOST TAPE is done so it will be out on time".

I hope 50 Cent a quick recovery.

Video Of The Day: Busta Ryhmes "Why Stop Now"

The Video of the Day is Busta Ryhmes "Why Stop Now"

I choose this video because the video is well done and reminds me of old Busta Rhymes videos with a 2012 twist. Busta Ryhmes looks like a beast and sounds like one as well. The beat is so dope also. This is Hip Hop. You know you wont see any bullshit on this blog only the illest. I co-sign this, shout out to Busta for his longevity in the game and still keeping it original!

Jay-Z announces music festival and supports gay marriage

Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z announced Monday that he's headed to the City of Brotherly Love this Labor Day weekend to headline the "Budweiser Made in America" festival, which he's also curated.

In partnership with Budweiser and the United Way, Jay-Z has developed a showcase of almost 30 acts from across the musical spectrum, including rock, R&B, Latin, dance and hip-hop. The official lineup will be announced on May 21.

Tickets to the event will go on sale May 23, with Budweiser Facebook fans being able to access the pre-sale on May 22. The concert is expected to cover three stages inside Philly’s Fairmount Park on September 1 and 2.

Jay-Z will wear two hats for the occasion, that of artist as well as that of fundraiser. Proceeds from the event, which is produced by Live Nation, will go to United Way outposts in greater Philadelphia and southern New Jersey, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and of course Jay’s beloved New York City. The organization invests cash in local communities and education.  - Courtesy of CNN

I think it is great to see Jay-Z continue to be a positive role-model and am glad to see him supporting United Way and education. On another note I think it was courageous of him to speak out in support of gay marriage. Interesting he once said....

SeeS Speaks: "Dont Ask Me" (Respect My Conglomerate Freestyle)

"Thats just the tip of the iceberg in fact, you don't wanna see what's beneath the surface of SeeS/ Don't mistake envy and greed, for the will to succeed/ will I, indeed, even Einstein was told that he would not achieve/ One of a dying breed, so I'm in need/ Another breath of oxygen when you can't breathe/ I'M what's it's like to look in the mirror and wish you could be what you see, happy/ That's why I am what I am DONT ASK ME!" - SeeS

Every once in a while you got to throw your fans a mix-tape track in which you just go in on a industry instrumental everyone is familiar with, so this is what I did over Busta Ryhmes "Respect My Conglomerate". For more check out www.seeshiphop.com!

I got sick of people asking me why I'm a rapper in a condescending tone so I decided to answer them in a song, but the short of it is because I'm damn good at it and enjoy it! Why do I need any other reasons...I don't, but I have them.

To me making songs is a process of expressing myself and I find that it is helpful to me, so for that reason alone I don't care what other people think about me rapping, I do it for myself first and foremost, then I do it for my fans, and then I do it cause I like making haters mad, and then I'll think about the money since if my goal was to make money, rapping isn't the smartest avenue to do so with a college education.

In fact people who rap for money and attention, before rapping to make a difference or inspire themselves and others, and who don't consider the influence they have as a responsibility are ignorant and will never gain my respect! Stop asking me, and even worse assuming why I rap!

Chris Brown Disses Rihanna?

"Dont fuck with my old bitch it's like a bad fur/ Every industry ni**a done had her/ Shook the tree like a pumpkin just to smash her/ Bitch is breaking codes, but I'm the password"

Chris Brown recorded a freestyle (written) to Kanye West's "Theraflu" instrumental in which it appears he is dissing Rihanna. Just another development in the Chris Brown/Rihanna dysfunctional relationship that may not be anything more then a way to keep them both in the headlines.

After posting the song, Rihanna un-followed him on twitter. Chris, 23, took to Twitter on May 10 to write, “Assumptions! I didn’t say any names so if u took offense to it then its something you feel guilty about.”

Seems like poor Rihanna can't catch a break as Drake seemingly dissed her on his new single as well referring the her song "What's My Name"

“She came through, she brought food / She got fucked, she knew wassup / She think I’m the realest out / And I say ‘Damn, that makes two of us’ / Oh that look like what’s her name / Chances are it is what’s her name / Chances are, if she was acting up / Then I fucked her once and never fucked again / She could have a Grammy, I still treat that ass like a nominee / Just need to know what that pussy- like so one time, it’s fine with me.” - Drake

Serena Williams Rap - Tennis is what you do best!

So everyone is making a racket about Serena Williams putting down the tennis racket and picking up the microphone. Here is my two cents...when you are literally the best at something you can do whatever you want, but don't assume your gonna be the best at it. I think she sounded better then some rappers out right now and support her doing whatever she wants, but I don't take her seriously as a rapper and she would have to raise the bar a lot higher to gain my respect for her as a musician. However when you are that good of a tennis player nothing will take away from that!

What do you think?

When Hip Hop Was Positive (Mother Day Edition): 2 Pac "Dear Mama"

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MOTHERS OUT THERE!

Songs like this make me miss Pac the most. Not many rappers get personal and emotional in their music anymore and I think that makes music less "real" and harder to relate to. Pac is one of my favorite artists for the honesty in his music and his ability to use music to truly express himself rather then portray an empty image. He reminds me of a time when Hip Hop Was Positive!

Thanks to all the mothers who raise their kids right!

Video of the Day: Skrillex "First Of The Year"

The video for today is not a Hip Hop video but I'm posting it cause I think it's one of the best videos of the year!

If you like Dubstep you will love this video, if you don't, this might change you mind!

The video is Skrillex and the song is "First Of The Year". Not only do I love the song and love the direction and effects in the video, I think the message is very powerful and shocking. I love the twist in the video and the feeling of justice being served when the video ends.
Let me know what you think about the video in the comment section!
Over 56 million views...wow!

Eric Sermon Speaks: "Breath Of Fresh Air" mixtape

SeeS and Eric Sermon from EPMD
Eric Sermon, Hip Hop pioneer, from EPMD speaks about his new mixtape "Breath Of Fresh Air"! I'm very excited to hear this as he made a mixtape for people who are sick of hearing the same exact stuff with no real content and I am one of those people.

I think rap has departed so much from they way it was created that it takes veterans in the game to remind some of the new rappers how it's done. Eric Sermon holds more credibility to me then almost anyone you hear on the radio and I for one look forward to hearing a "Breath Of Fresh Air"!

Eric Sermon explains his new mixtape:

"The Breath of Fresh Air' was meant to come out for people to have another place to go to for music, to get away from hearing the same exact stuff that they're hearing every day with the same conversation and no type of content," Sermon told SOHH. "Not saying I have a preachy album, but I'm giving you something that's away from the norm. I have my friends on the CD. People I consider friends are Rick Ross, Too Short, Lloyd, Redman and Method Man, of course, 50 Cent and the new guys like Fred the Godson. It was just something that had to be heard because it was music that was missing, in my opinion."

"Artists always talk about a breath of fresh air, it's just meaning that it's something different," Sermon added. "It's something new, different from what you're used to hearing. That's the standpoint I was coming from. I had the idea way before the heart attack. I wasn't working on the project that long. I had the idea but when it came time to put it together, it took me about a month or so because you don't have to worry about going in to the studio with people because everyone has their own studio. For me, friends can make exceptions for friends. I was able to send some of the records through e-mail and they came back quick."

If you are new to hip hop and don't know EPMD, after you get your ass kicked by real hip hop fans, listen to this because "You Gots to Chill"!
