OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: THE "RAP AND SMOKE" CYPHER - COMING SOON!!

THE "RAP AND SMOKE" CYPHER IS PRESENTED BY CT CORPORATE TAKEOVER AND B.S.T RECORDS!

WE HAVE RECORDED THE FOOTAGE AND ARE EDITING NOW!

ARTISTS ON THE "RAP AND SMOKE" CYPHER INCLUDE:

SEES / HIGH PRIEST /FNX / KID KARMA / JOHNNY HAZE

 SCARZ / D-22 / TREY TUCK / JYNX / JOSH BLIN

Why these artists?
These artists where hand selected for various reasons beyond the obvious, being that they are all amazingly talented Emcees! Beyond their lyricism and creativity all these artists recognize and support other artists, understand the value of networking and are committed to their craft. In the music business its important to have something to bring to the table, every artist on this cypher does that. I create opportunities like this to find the best of the best both on and off the mic. You will be amazed at the level of talent in CT and on this cypher!!

Why a cypher?
Independent artists are often at a disadvantage when competing against commercial mainstream platforms, especially radio. Getting mainstream radio exposure forces artists to create songs that are commercially viable, read the trends and engineer music to appease not only their fans or listeners but labels, PD's, A&R's, and everyone involved in the "business" aspect of the industry. A cypher on the other hand has no intention of reaching radio or other extremely competitive mainstream platforms, instead it maximizes online platforms, such as blogs and social media to gain exposure and go viral. It allows artists to escape the "commercial box" and really display their lyrical ability. It also promotes unity among rappers and a healthy competitive desire to out rhyme artists you respect. These artists all know and respect one another and I hope this motivates everyone to bring their A+ game!

I will be doing an extended post for each of these artists over the next few weeks so be sure to check back and learn more about each of the artists featured on the "Rap And Smoke" cypher. To introduce all the artists I have included their videos below, get familiar, this is history in the making!!

SPLAT860 - THE WOLF - BRAND NEW TRACK!!

SPLAT860 PRESENTS HIS LATEST TRACK "THE WOLF", REPRESENTING CT!

SPLAT860 is one of the hardest working artists in CT and truly has a gift in that he writes, records, and engineers his own tracks. His latest track "The Wolf" is an amazing track, the concept is dope and the lyrics are personal. Here is a great example of an artist using hip-hop to express themselves in a creative an honest manner, something that seems more rare as each day goes by. Show Splat860 some love and be sure to check out this track!

REP CT MOVEMENT: SPLAT860

As many of you know I recently released a track called "REP CT". After releasing this track I invited artists from CT to reach out to me, get the beat for free, and create their own version to show how they "REP CT"!

"I am a Rapper, Producer, DJ, and own and operate one of the largest blogs in Connecticut! I wanted to combine all these things and hear local artists REP CT! So I made this beat (Producer), then I scratched my voice on the intro(DJ), then I recorded my verse(Rapper). I am also sending the beat out to anybody who hits me up and shows support and look forward to hearing how other artists REP CT and I will post all the remixes on WWW.CTHIPHOPBLOG.COM!" - SeeS

NEW CT MUSIC: BIG MACH X SPLAT860 "LIFE STYLE"

If you follow this blog you will know that Big Mach and Splat860 are artists that I support because of their music, work ethic, and attitude towards the state and support for other artists. You might also know that the fastest way to get something posted on this blog is to incorporate the logo (with permission) on artwork or flyers etc. But lets put all that aside, cause the truth is if I didn't know these artists and if they were not supporters of CTHIPHOPBLOG, I would still be a fan of this record because its FIRE!!! Do yourself a favor and check it out! - SeeS

CONN-VICTION TAKEOVER: SPLAT860 "THE CONVICTION"

Splat860 and I collaborated on a track called "The Conviction" for "The Conn-viction Tapes"! NGMC: SPLAT 860 "DROUGHT" FT. KING ROCKY B AND ROBOY BEANZ

No Gimmick Music Coalition is doing major things in CT. I fully support the movement and respect the grind, diversity, and commitment to success all the members have. S/O Phil Blount and of course Splat860, King Rocky B, and RoBoy Beanz. This track was one of the first tracks I heard from Splat and the hook is beyond catchy, the verses are dope, and the beat is on point. This is a strong record and in my opinion one of Splat's best videos to date. This is a must watch! Be sure to subscribe to them on YouTube as well! - SeeS
