6 MONTHS SINCE THE CONN-VICTION TAPES..LOOK WHATS HAPPENED!

CT Corporate Takeover presents "The Conn-victin Tapes"

THE CONN-VICTION TAPES

TO SOME IT may sound foolish, but "The Conn-viction Tapes" is one of the biggest accomplishments of my life.

Yes it is just a mixtape, but it embodies who I am as a person and what can be accomplished when local artists unite and work together. Below is a showcase of what was accomplished! With enough support we can put together "The Conn-viction Tapes 2"!

Project Overview:
"The Conn-viction Tapes" is a Connecticut based album entirely produced by SeeS that will feature a different Connecticut artist in collaboration with SeeS on each track. The album is presented by CT Corporate Takeover and upon completion will be streamed online for free and be available for free download on various sites including SoundCloud and DatPiff. The recording process will be documented including videos, photos, and promotional tracks leading up to the release in early 2015.

Artists on The Conn-viction Tapes:
SeeS, Gold, Oscar Black, High Priest, Theo Manchyld, Rassko Lean, Soldier Picasso, Arkatex, General P, Splat860, Deedz, Chosen, Williano, Big Mach.

 JOURNAL INQUIRER
I would like to sincerely thank the Journal Inquirer for taking an interest in this project and writing an amazing article about the artists from East Hartford that were involved in the project. Big Mach, Soldier Picasso, and Splat860 all made significant contributions to the project and it was such an honor for me to be able to get them some publicity for their help with the project! Thanks again to the Journal Inquirer.

HOT 93.7
I owe a major thanks to HOT 93.7 who was the first major supporter of the project. Prior to the project being finished they had posted a few tracks on their blog and website. After the release of the project they focused a Friday Night Spotlight (Below) interview exclusively around the project! DJ G Money also hosted the release party for the project which took place at Beso Lounge in East Hartford!

DJDARK SYDE IS THE OFFICIAL DJ FOR "THE CONN-VICTION TAPES" RELEASE PARTY

DJDARK SYDE (PIC COURTESY OF SPLAT860)
DJDark Syde is without question my favorite DJ in CT and my first choice to DJ the Official Release Party for "The Conn-viction Tapes"! What people tend to overlook is that we need people like her, people with a true love for music and passion for DJing independent events. Few people have dedicated themselves to the underground music scene the way DJDark has and I am honored to have her part of this project and movement! Thank you DJDark Syde! - SeeS

(Bio Courtesy of DJDark Syde)
PrettyBoss DJ Aka DJDark Syde is a CT disc jockey doing her thing in clubs across the state. She first began her career hosting and performing Karaoke and Trivia with The Royal Beats DJ Co., a troupe of all female DJ’s out of Berlin, CT, that trained her in the art of sound 4 years ago. It was her desire to take music mixing from just a laptop to her fingertips that made her branch off on her own. With the help of her DJ Controller aka J2D2, she’s been doing her thing and making moves in the independent music scene for the past year. Where or when she’ll stop is unknown, but with the support of her Team PrettyBoss, compiled of music lover, supporter and promoter Shay Blayze, and singer, photographer and model J Starr Marie, she plans on taking it as far as her Faith and love of music will take her.

DJDark is also the in-house DJ for NGMC aka "No Gimmick Music Coalition", a music studio based out of Hamden, CT. This group of artists have been doing big things and putting on shows all over the state and plan on branching out to venues out of state as well. Dark Syde is a mobile DJ and can provide quality sound for clubs, event halls, outdoor functions, weddings, children’s events, you name it, she’s got it. CONN-VICTION TAKEOVER: GENERAL P "DOESN'T MATTER"

General P and I collaborated on a track called "Doesn't Matter" for "The Conn-viction Tapes"! This track is written to those people who do you dirty and then try to make up for it, but no matter what they do, it "Doesn't Matter"! Check out General P on the latest track from the project "Doesn't Matter"!

Bio: General P (Courtesy of General P)

Raheem "General P" Vann-Davidson was born on May 13, 1989. Named Lil' P at the time, he was an original member and the founder of the music group Test the Bee. In 2004, P released his first solo mixtape "Why P", distributing 1,000 copies to friends, family, and his local high school to gain a small amount of a following. In 2006 T.T.B recorded and produced their second mixtape "Da Reunion", which quickly got shelved due to a falling out and a split of the group. Shortly after leaving his group, P became a dancer under Full Circle's dance team, In Da Mix. In 2008, Swagg Boyz, an affiliate of Full Circle, was introduced to P with the opportunities for advancement in his rap career and signing to an independent label. Through his experience and determination, P quickly rose to the top and earned the ranking of General which is how he acquired the name General P. In September of 2010, General P Release his third mixtape "On My General Shit", producing 5,000 copies to once again bring a lot more fame and more opportunities to further his ambitious mind set of being the next big icon. Since 2010 General P have released two parts to his Three series Mix tape, "Taken" & "Taken Vol.II  Melodies". "TAK3N" is set for release 4/14/2015!

CONN-VICTION TAKEOVER: ARKATEX "CAN'T TELL ME"

Arkatex and I collaborated on a track called "Can't Tell Me" for "The Conn-viction Tapes"! Arkatex are among the most professional artists I have ever worked with, responsive, prepared, and reliable, the Arkatex are a group you should try to network with and one you will without questions see future collaborations with. The song we did speaks to our work ethic as "you can't tell me that I'm not working"....

Bio: Arkatex - www.arkatex.net

ARKATEX is a dynamic duo from Connecticut that make awesome music instead of fighting crime. The two members, Unique and Ralfy Rodriguez, have combined their talents to create a sound and an energy most can't compare to and if you try they will prove you wrong. The two entities that combine as one to form ARKATEX explore new sounds blazing a path creating their own lane in which only they can travel. Although this is a new sound they bring, ARKATEX, have deep roots in Hip Hop and R&B, but with a Latin twist that can't be matched. These two have mastered the balance of having a fun pop and night club appeal while maintaining a deep soulful urban style. They bring a very energetic show that is interactive with their fans and fun to watch.

It has been their great pleasure to perform at many venues throughout New England and the surrounding area which include, but are not limited to Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, and eventually worldwide. ARKATEX has been received by audiences of hundreds to thousands and they are just getting started. Reaction from their fans has always been tremendous and they expect their growing fan base will continue to open new doors for them.

ARKATEX is available for auditions, interviews and community events. They can also provide music for review by those who wish to hear.

CONN-VICTION TAKEOVER: GOLD "NEVER KNOW"

Gold and I collaborated on a track called "Never Know"for "The Conn-viction Tapes"! Gold is one of CT's most respected emcees who is very accomplished as both an artist and promoter. After playing Gold several beats he hand selected this one and we began writing. The result is undeniable, check it out....

Bio: Gold

Marcus "Gold" Clark grew up in Hartford, CT and has been rapping since the age of fourteen. Having grown up in one of the roughest areas of Hartford (Brook St.), he was no longer a stranger to the street lifestyle. Gold soon realized that he did not want to become a product of his environment and decided to use his lyrical talents in hope of a better life for himself. His influences are Biggie Smalls, Nas and Jay Z; but he attributes his initial inspiration to Michael Jackson. Gold has won over 35 MC battles and talent shows, including the "Bar With No Name's battle" and the "Heads Held High" competition just to name a few. Winning the "Bar With No Name" six weeks in a row, the contest was forced to retire him and the "Heads Held High" earned him a photo in the Hartford Courant newspaper. Gold also has several records spinning on multiple radio stations, both college and mainstream. His music is widely known and respected in the state of Connecticut and it continues to grow as he performs across the U.S opening up for artist such as T.I, Schoolboy Q, Young Jeezy, Joe Budden, etc. With the release of his new single "Keep It 100", the release of his new mixtape mix tape "Hidden Treasure" he is definitely leaving his print in the game.

He is also a promoter for Beso Lounge (a well known club in CT) on Friday and Sunday nights, hosting events with Troy Ave, Rich Dollaz, 2 Pistols, Agnes Mo, Andre Drummond, etc. and he is currently working on the release of a video for the new single.

I am glad to see CT artists supporting each other, so when an artist like Gold is able to collaborate with another artist from the state and get the song on the radio, I only hope that everyone would support the movement. If you haven't yet heard Gold's latest single, check it out below!
