TO SOME IT may sound foolish, but "The Conn-viction Tapes" is one of the biggest accomplishments of my life.
Yes it is just a mixtape, but it embodies who I am as a person and what can be accomplished when local artists unite and work together. Below is a showcase of what was accomplished! With enough support we can put together "The Conn-viction Tapes 2"!
Project Overview: "The Conn-viction Tapes" is a Connecticut
based album entirely produced by SeeS that will feature a different
Connecticut artist in collaboration with SeeS on each track. The album
is presented by CT Corporate Takeover and upon completion will be
streamed online for free and be available for free download on various
sites including SoundCloud and DatPiff. The recording process will be
documented including videos, photos, and promotional tracks leading up
to the release in early 2015.

I owe a major thanks to HOT 93.7 who was the first major supporter of the project. Prior to the project being finished they had posted a few tracks on their blog and website. After the release of the project they focused a Friday Night Spotlight (Below) interview exclusively around the project! My name is Darius Heywood and I'm an artist out of Brockton, MA. "Mount Olympus" is produced by Cartier Jones via Chicago. It's a brash hip-hop record backed by a heavy Northern/Boom-Bap bass-line which captures you at the first drop. The visual has a comic concept in a picture book format which bring to life some of the references from the record, while also highlighting a few of my personal interests.
As an artist myself there is nothing better then music to help you through life's highs and lows. More importantly at times to help cope with major loss and pain, music becomes one of the most reliable sources of comfort to a true artist. Instead of escaping pain, music has a way to support you enough to face it and allow yourself to feel in the moment. In that spirit I would like to share this video by MCRE.
