CT ARTIST: SHAHEEN - ANAHITA (AUDIO)

Short Bio (Courtesy of Shaheen)
Shaheen (December 16th, 1993) is an Iranian-American Hip-Hop artist residing in South Windsor, Connecticut. Influenced by Lupe Fiasco, Nas, T.I, Notorious B.I.G, Public Enemy, and other Hip-Hop figures, Shaheen began writing lyrics in 2009 during a car ride, which developed into an after-school hobby soon after. Beginning in 2010, friends would encourage Shaheen to continue writing lyrics and start making music because of his ability to move people through poetry. Being picked on for making music, Shaheen ignored his critics and continued to pursue music and grow as an artist. In 2012, he performed for the first time at a charity event, making many former critics to take back what they have said before. In 2013, he released “Friend-Zone”, and performed the song throughout his college campus. Within months, he released “Leviathan”, the music video for “Rise” which helped him gain recognition in his community. Shaheen continues to release music with a socio-political theme ranging from Marxism to anarchism, his Iranian roots, his path to self-realization, and his struggle with self-love.

Check Out Faith Rose, another CT artist networking and getting her name out there! - CTHipHopBlog

CT ARTIST: KASO A.K.A K. MACK "PARTY N BULLSHIT"

"All Get Right" is a song off the upcoming project Party N Bullshit. A real party track "All Get Right" is a more uptempo and trippy sounding song. It's for the smoker/party crowd and I could certainly relate to that. Be sure to check it out and show support by leaving a comment!

CT ARTIST: ZHERO - PARADISE

I support artists who creatively push the envelope and make music that is "out of the box", yet still execute it professionally. Here is a perfect example of that, Zhero is an 18 year old artist from CT and is taking chances that most artists much older are still afraid to take. Congrats on this track! Keep it up! - CT HIP HOP BLOG

(Zhero Bio: Courtesy of Zhero)
Zhero is an 18 year old Artist from CT who has recently changed his outlook on music. As a former rapper of strictly “boom-bap” style beats he had decided to grow creatively and become less of a typical “rapper”. He has done this, not only because he has found boredom in that area, but also to seek out those who he can connect with. This creativity was thus turned into an upcoming EP entitled Growing Pains. Growing Pains will push the boundaries of what a “rapper” can be. His content so far has revealed signs of him struggling with depression, loneliness, and anxiety, amongst other stressors. His first single “Wont Die” was named StraightFresh.net’s number 2 track of the week and his rollout over twitter has caught the attention people nationwide (including CT, NYC, TX). Zhero has stuff to say. Stuff that many people would be too scared.
