CT ARTIST: SYCK FLOW - CALL ME

Raised as a Chicago native, artist Syck Flow was born to pursue a career in the music biz . After being officially given the name because of his unique rhythmic flow, Syck spent a lot of time in the dirty south. (South Carolina) that is, up top in Connecticut and in the mid-west Chicago. His style is a reflection of the three places he once called home. Now a days, the studio is his home as he is formulating a collection of songs that will best introduce and in some cases re-introduce him to today's music scene. With talent and energy to spare Syck has begun his journey as an artist.

Chiba has release his most anticipated Mixtape on the streets titled "Love & Forgiveness" Hosted by Hot 93.7's Own Mid Day Monster DJ Wrexx The Beast. "Love & Forgiveness" is available for free download on SoundCloud.com and datpiff.com.  His single "Stole My Heart" is being released later in the top of  2016 alongside the release of "Fantasy of A Hustler" Mixtape. 

Chiba was previously signed to an Imprint of Sony, and is now taking his talents elsewhere as an Indi artist.  Chiba is from Waterbury CT and credits his musical influence to 50cent and G-Unit, who burst on the scene in 2003.  As noted by Rolling Stones the production of "dark synth grooves, buzzy keyboards and a persistently funky bounce", complemented by 50cent’s lyrical melodies “an unflappable, laid-back flow".  Other influential artist are as follows: The Fugees, Lauryn Hill, and Jahiem.

Recent concert performances include opening up for Fabolous, Cure$y, French Montana, Wiz Kahlifa, Waka Flaka, Cassidy, Bizarre and Cory Gunz just to name a few.  

We are currently accepting booking offers for Chiba's 2016 Concert tour season that coincides with the genres Chiba represents.  Chiba and his management team are also opened to other opportunities that is available by your organization.  Hopefully we can work together.

"Making it” in the music industry can be viewed in two different ways. Top 10 billboard or underground success story. Lex feels that success is measured by who you can effect with your talent, and what can be taken from it and passed along. Born Antoine Alexander in Los Angeles, California, then at a young age, he moved to Bloomfield, Connecticut, but music has been a part of his life since he was a toddler. From a house that was always playing the likes of “Al Green,” to “Stevie Wonder,” he understands that music is therapeutic, and can influence many and also can create enemies. Regardless, he pushes himself to the edge with his creativity and is not afraid to step way out of his boundaries to try new formulas and patterns of wordplay. Lex started writing rhymes at the age of 9 and actually started rapping at 13. Surrounded by many students in middle and high school that had the same passion, the biggest influences for music on his life come from his sister and his father. When he was too young (according to his mother) to listen to explicit rap music, it was his sister that snuck countless cd’s into his room so he could listen to them at night. From “A tribe called quest,” to “Onyx,” there were two groups that stood out to him, “Leaders of the new school,” and “Wu Tang Clan,” especially the groups lyrically extravagant and over the top front men “Busta Rhymes,” and “Reakwon” Lex’s‘ favorite MC’s of all time. He states, “ I would go into my own world when I listen to hip-hop, nothing around me existed except the music. I get really lost in it, its a great feeling.”Lex’s old stage name was A-lex, which was taken from his last name Alexander. He released two mixtapes under this moniker, “Pass the Aspirin,” and the unreleased “Life of a Studio Junkie.” He recently changed his stage name because he wanted a “fresh start” and take a different approach with his music.

This cypher was done acapella to really put the bars to the test. I must say I was really impressed with all the artists on this cypher, FNX is a monster and murders everything, T. Sawyer really came with bars and a creative and innovative rhyme pattern, D-22 is known for his punchlines and kept true to his reputation.
