CT ARTIST WATCH: HUEY NEWTON MAKING MOVES IN CT

It is great networking with artists cause you come across so many dope and talented people. Huey Newton is one of these great talents and I am glad our paths have crossed! Huey Newton is an up and coming Artist from New Britain Connecticut, CO-founder of CREative Krew Worldwide, a new founded label based out of his hometown. His love of music runs deep you can hear many different styles in his work from the samples and topics he speaks on, he believes being from such a diverse city like New Britain he has many influences from the streets to a rager thrown in the burbs. While he started rapping at 15 he started to take it serious at the age of 22 after gaining knowledge on the music industry. Huey Newton has already made a local splash in the 860 with recordings with Jitta On The Track and Zach Zubko (members of Lumber Life and HomeGrown music) and Kiid Crush who he often Collabs with (WAG). His #420EP came out on 04/20/15 and has received great feedback and set Huey up for a big summer in 2015. He's a part of the "park and spark" interviews with fellow CREative Krew member the HighHipster and they've been locally interviewing artist in the state to help promote their work! Trag Tha God is a 20 year old emcee and producer from New Britain, CT. With 7 mixtape under his belt, as well as a plethora of EPs and 2 "free" albums, Trag Tha God is currently prepping for the release of his debut album, Greatness Over Deception 2, which is slated to release on June 16, 2015. His first single, Day By Day with assists from Allen Mikal & Galaxy, managed to peak at #49 on the iTunes Charts in 11 different countries around the world.

SEES INTERVIEW ON WNUR 89.3 IN CHICAGO

Last week I was fortunate to have an interview at WNUR during my stay in Chicago. I met Lucas Messore the DJ and person doing the interview and we immediately hit it off. I was thankful he had taken the time the night before to come out and see me perform live at The Shrine as the opening act for Smif-N-Wessun. 

To begin the show he started with a mix that was dope which led into a 35 min interview On-Air which included playing several tracks from "SeeS Between The Lines" and "The Conn-viction Tapes"! 

The interview was dope, mostly in part to how prepared Lucas was and how natural the conversation was between the two of us was On-Air. Feel free to check out the entire interview below!
