Tone Benjaminz is an emcee, producer and DJ from Hartford, CT. Formerly known as Ill Shorty and Ill Stout, he is a former member of Tha I.G.'s, North East Swat Team and Official Big League. The "renaissance man" of Hip Hop is affiliated with the D.O.S. collective (Defenders of the Old School), and the newly formed Guild comprised of himself, Eville (Philly) and C-Gats (NY) of SoAuthentic. Tone's sound can be described as experimental hardcore, with a heavy dose of 90's influenced boom bap. When asked about the name change, Tone explains that it has nothing to do with money. He took the name to honor two of his uncles who tragically passed away within months of each other. Fiercely independent after the experience of a bad record deal, Tone releases all his material directly to fans through digital media outlets. Some old dogs CAN learn new tricks. 

His current single is "Don't Look Sick", a serious song promoting awareness for unseen illnesses such as cancer, lupus, and sickle cell anemia.
