SeeS Performs "DREAMER" Live in Brooklyn NYC

There is nothing in the world I love more then rapping on stage. I am grateful for every opportunity to perform and never feel as alive as when I'm on stage. I have always been a dreamer and as a kid I would always rap in my room imagining I was on stage in front of a crowd. It was this vision that drove me and motivated me in my darkest hours. When I'm on stage I hope the crowd enjoys my performance but the truth is I am the one that enjoys it the most and regardless of what hata's say, I was never doing it for them in the first place.

In this video I am performing my song "DREAMER" produced by Platinum Producer Hugo Diaz and Hulyonthebeat!

Video Of The Day "Mercy" - Kayne West

The video of the day is MERCY!

I think the video for this is interesting, and the beat is super dope! Lyrically I think this song isn't as much as it is hyped up to be but if you don't listen to the words still sounds dope. Either way I think the video is worth watching so check it out!

Nas Tells Us Why "Life Is Good"

The Queens rapper, Nas, has been in the game long enough to figure it out! He knows what he wants and does just that. For Nas "Life is Good" and many people are glad to see him making a comeback to the mainstream, even though his music is anything but! I love how he is still making hits that sound true to who he is and sound like true New York hip hop!

SeeS Speaks: "A Good Man" Produced by Fantom of the Beat

FantoMusic and my label CT Corporate Takeover decided to LEAK "A Good Man", a future release off my next album "SeeS Between The Lines", simply because I fell in love with the finished track and didn't want to wait to put it out to the world!

I have been a long time fan of "the art of storytelling" especially in rap music. Some of my favorite songs of all time (Nas "Undying love", 2 Pac "Brenda's Got A Baby", Slick Rick "Children's Story", and the list goes on) highlight the strength and power of good storytelling. Commercial rap these days has departed from this style, in my opinion mostly in part to peoples shortened attention spans and obsession with money, sex and violence in short doses, usually out of context and without consequence.

"A Good Man" also plays on themes of money, sex, and violence, since it is what plagues our society as a whole, but puts them into a context that shows the intended as well as unintended consequences of peoples actions. The message is that life is unfair and doesn't guarantee a happy ending and often times the "Good Man (or women)" will pay the consequences for the actions of the people they associate with. The moral of the story is to be careful who you love because the things they do directly affects you. I also wrote this song to women to convey the power of a women's love and how when manipulated purposely can destroy both bad and good men.

As a writer my goal was not to make a catchy commercial song, but to make a song that draws you in, paints a visual picture, gets you connected to the good character and then provides a detailed account of what happens to that character who's only mistake was falling in love with the wrong girl.

Check it out to "SeeS" what happens! Please share with your friends and comment to show your support!

Lil Wayne flexes his power on Hot 97 - Cancels all YMCMB performances

Lil Wayne made the choice to cancel all YMCMB performances at Hot 97 Summer Jam after Hot 97 personality Peter Rosenberg had this to say about headliner Nicki Minaj.

“I know there are some chicks here waiting to sing ‘Starships’ later, I’m not talking to y’all right now, f*ck that bullsh*t, I’m here to talk about real Hip-Hop sh*t.”

Personally I agree with the statement, but think it was said in the wrong context and was unprofessional, especially from an employee of the radio station (Hot 97) that hired her as the headliner of one of the biggest concerts of the year. Lil Wayne has every right in my opinion to stand up for his artists and cancel all the performances. You do not get paid for a performance to be dissed by someone in the organization that hired you.

I cannot imagine how mad Hot 97 must be having lost many of their biggest acts, Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, and more YMCMB artists. When you have power you must know when to use it, I would have done the same thing that Lil Wayne did. He just ensured Peter Rosenberg wont be hearing the end of this anytime soon from his "higher-ups".
