Video Of The Day: Jada Ft. Styles P "Dope Boys"

Today the video of the day is Jadakiss Ft. Styles P "Dope Boys".

The song and video are dope, but what else would you expect from these two. I have been a long fan of Jada and Styles and I'm feeling this new track and the video is crazy as well. Make sure you check it out if you are a fan.

This song is off the "consignment" mixtape which I have heard good things about and will review once I have heard the whole thing!

Drake Speaks out about Hata's

I must admit the more and more Drake grabs my attention the more and more he has proven himself as a legitimate and talented MC who's career will not be short lived. I will also admit I have become a Drake fan and its not just to hop on the bandwagon but because I respect his values as a man and his image as a rapper for not being as consistently negative and violent as many of the rappers today.

In a recent interview Drake sits down with Sway and tells us the advice Floyd Mayweather gave him.  Floyd told him,
"There will be days I walk in the arena and people might cheer.  Then there will be days I walk in the arena and people might boo.  But, it all sounds the same to me because it’s all just noise that let me know I’m still relevant."
Now that's good advice...period. So to all my haters, keep making that noise!!

Get More: Music News

I also have a message for all of my hata's and I have put it in a song called "Hata Hata", its an older track of mine produced by close friend YOPP, let me know what you think!! Thanks again for following the blog! - SeeS

NEW 50 CENT VIDEO "MURDER ONE"

Fifty Cent spits FIRE on this track Murder One which is off  The Lost Tapes mixtape.

50 Cent sounds like the old 50 that I think everyone will agree was one of the illest! I hope to hear more tracks like this in the future and am glad to hear that he is doing better, out of the hospital, and will continue to promote his new mixtape "The Lost Tapes", which for the record shares the title of my favorite Nas mixtape, which I also highly recommend you become familiar with!

On a personal note I have just finished my latest track "A Good Man" with "Fantom of the Beat" Platinum Producer of 50 Cent's and Lil Kim's "Magic Stick"!! Check it out, its the song of the week!!!

Nas Drops Video for Song "Daughters"

As many of you are familiar with I have a section called "When Hip Hop Was Positive".  I am glad to share this Nas video with you as proof that at least Nas is trying to keep Hip Hop positive.

Nas did his thing on this track and I'm glad to hear it getting as much radio play as it has. If you love this song like me be sure to check out the video below!!

Gotta admit on a personal note, this song only confirms why I lose sleep at night thinking about having a daughter in the future. "God gets us back, he makes us have precious little girls"- Nas

Blog Spotlight: Son-Ray "Finding Me"

This is Blog Spotlight!

Blog Spotlight defines the saying "Favor for a Favor"...I only feature music from people who I have had the pleasure to network with. Serious artists who understand to get support you must show support...I too am one of those serious artists and Blog Spotlight is dedicated to the artists who reached out/or reached back to me!

This Blog Spotlight is on Son-Ray a dope artist I have had the pleasure to work with and network with who you should be on the lookout for!

Son-Ray is prepping for the release of his new EP, "Face Value" on May 29th. The Brooklyn born artist kept it true to the game and created a banger. The first single, "Music Is My Life" featuring another Brooklyn artist Skyzoo, basically tells the story of a dedicated artist. With Babieqirl on the hook, the track takes you on a lyrical journey of a day in the life and grind of Son-Ray. Check out the track and look out for the EP later this month. Please post the following cover art photo and feel free to either download and share the track or just the link.

Check out his music video for "Finding Me" with a cameo by myself!

Will Smith Slaps Reporter on Red Carpet - AWESOME

I have been a Will Smith fan my whole life since Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and I am glad people aren't criticizing him heavily for this cause the guy trying to kiss him was out of line and Will Smith did not slap him that hard.

Will Smith is known as one of the nicest guys in Hollywood but when a reporter crosses the line and tries to kiss Will Smith on the mouth on the Red Carpet of MIB3, Will shows him that he's not having it. Way to go Will Smith, even when angered you know not to cross the line, I might of punched that guy in the face.

CT Artist SeeS (S Double E S) Starts New Record Label, CT Corporate Takeover, and Launches New Website, www.SeeSHipHop.com

Here is a press release that was written about me online I would like to share with you as a reason to never give up on your dreams!

CT's own local artist Scott Sheldon, known by stage name SeeS, is beginning to make moves in the music industry and has begun to welcome the much overdue support that his talent warrants.

In the past two years SeeS has been able to accomplish an amazing amount for an unknown and unsigned artist, and because of this work that will soon change.

In the last two years SeeS has started his own record label to promote himself, CT Corporate Takeover, collaborated with Cappadonna and Inspectah Deck from Wu-Tang as well as multiple platinum producers, created an official EP "SeeS Control", secured a distribution deal with Bungalo/Universal Music Group for two of the singles, produced a top notch music video for his single "Mad At Me" (Feat. Diana Fuentes), produced two commercials for Mega Education that aired on Comcast in CT, completed interviews and got air play on Hot 93.7 the #1 Hip Hop station in CT, and managed to design and manage a fully functional website, www.seeshiphop.com, where all of these accomplishments can be seen and heard.

A true prodigy, SeeS has been writing and performing Hip-Hop songs since the age of 13 (now 25). SeeS was raised in the affluent suburbs of Hartford, CT, not exactly a 'hotbed' for Hip-Hop music. But this ironic environment simply serves to underscore his phenomenal natural talent. In the mid-90's while Hip-Hop's wave of popularity was exploding worldwide, SeeS, a young adopted teen living in privileged suburbia, "struggled mightily with identity, individuality and sense of purpose." Hip-Hop culture captivated him. He loved it. It offered him an outlet and the freedom to express himself without limits.

Do Hip Hop a favor and learn more about SeeS. Visit his website www.seeshiphop.com, or simply Google "S Double E S", follow him on twitter ( @ ) sees09, and Facebook www.facebook.com/sees09.
Here is my latest released song, I just recorded this and can use all the help I can get to promote it. Thank You to all my fans who have and are helping me realize dreams do come true!

50 Cent Hospitalized For Stomach Virus

On May 16th rapper 50 Cent was hospitalized, reportedly for a stomach virus. During the day 50 Cent tweeted about his condition, while he didn't provide many details about the hospital visit he reassured fans there would be no delay in his music.

50 tweeted "I'm in the hospital but my gangsta grillz LOST TAPE is done so it will be out on time".

I hope 50 Cent a quick recovery.

Video Of The Day: Busta Ryhmes "Why Stop Now"

The Video of the Day is Busta Ryhmes "Why Stop Now"

I choose this video because the video is well done and reminds me of old Busta Rhymes videos with a 2012 twist. Busta Ryhmes looks like a beast and sounds like one as well. The beat is so dope also. This is Hip Hop. You know you wont see any bullshit on this blog only the illest. I co-sign this, shout out to Busta for his longevity in the game and still keeping it original!

Jay-Z announces music festival and supports gay marriage

Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z announced Monday that he's headed to the City of Brotherly Love this Labor Day weekend to headline the "Budweiser Made in America" festival, which he's also curated.

In partnership with Budweiser and the United Way, Jay-Z has developed a showcase of almost 30 acts from across the musical spectrum, including rock, R&B, Latin, dance and hip-hop. The official lineup will be announced on May 21.

Tickets to the event will go on sale May 23, with Budweiser Facebook fans being able to access the pre-sale on May 22. The concert is expected to cover three stages inside Philly’s Fairmount Park on September 1 and 2.

Jay-Z will wear two hats for the occasion, that of artist as well as that of fundraiser. Proceeds from the event, which is produced by Live Nation, will go to United Way outposts in greater Philadelphia and southern New Jersey, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and of course Jay’s beloved New York City. The organization invests cash in local communities and education.  - Courtesy of CNN

I think it is great to see Jay-Z continue to be a positive role-model and am glad to see him supporting United Way and education. On another note I think it was courageous of him to speak out in support of gay marriage. Interesting he once said....

 "I was clappin' them flamers before I became famous " - Jay-Z "U Don't Know"

SeeS Speaks: "Dont Ask Me" (Respect My Conglomerate Freestyle)

"Thats just the tip of the iceberg in fact, you don't wanna see what's beneath the surface of SeeS/ Don't mistake envy and greed, for the will to succeed/ will I, indeed, even Einstein was told that he would not achieve/ One of a dying breed, so I'm in need/ Another breath of oxygen when you can't breathe/ I'M what's it's like to look in the mirror and wish you could be what you see, happy/ That's why I am what I am DONT ASK ME!" - SeeS

Every once in a while you got to throw your fans a mix-tape track in which you just go in on a industry instrumental everyone is familiar with, so this is what I did over Busta Ryhmes "Respect My Conglomerate". For more check out www.seeshiphop.com!

I got sick of people asking me why I'm a rapper in a condescending tone so I decided to answer them in a song, but the short of it is because I'm damn good at it and enjoy it! Why do I need any other reasons...I don't, but I have them.

To me making songs is a process of expressing myself and I find that it is helpful to me, so for that reason alone I don't care what other people think about me rapping, I do it for myself first and foremost, then I do it for my fans, and then I do it cause I like making haters mad, and then I'll think about the money since if my goal was to make money, rapping isn't the smartest avenue to do so with a college education.

In fact people who rap for money and attention, before rapping to make a difference or inspire themselves and others, and who don't consider the influence they have as a responsibility are ignorant and will never gain my respect! Stop asking me, and even worse assuming why I rap!

Chris Brown Disses Rihanna?

"Dont fuck with my old bitch it's like a bad fur/ Every industry ni**a done had her/ Shook the tree like a pumpkin just to smash her/ Bitch is breaking codes, but I'm the password"

Chris Brown recorded a freestyle (written) to Kanye West's "Theraflu" instrumental in which it appears he is dissing Rihanna. Just another development in the Chris Brown/Rihanna dysfunctional relationship that may not be anything more then a way to keep them both in the headlines.

After posting the song, Rihanna un-followed him on twitter. Chris, 23, took to Twitter on May 10 to write, “Assumptions! I didn’t say any names so if u took offense to it then its something you feel guilty about.”

Seems like poor Rihanna can't catch a break as Drake seemingly dissed her on his new single as well referring the her song "What's My Name"

“She came through, she brought food / She got fucked, she knew wassup / She think I’m the realest out / And I say ‘Damn, that makes two of us’ / Oh that look like what’s her name / Chances are it is what’s her name / Chances are, if she was acting up / Then I fucked her once and never fucked again / She could have a Grammy, I still treat that ass like a nominee / Just need to know what that pussy- like so one time, it’s fine with me.” - Drake

Serena Williams Rap - Tennis is what you do best!

So everyone is making a racket about Serena Williams putting down the tennis racket and picking up the microphone. Here is my two cents...when you are literally the best at something you can do whatever you want, but don't assume your gonna be the best at it. I think she sounded better then some rappers out right now and support her doing whatever she wants, but I don't take her seriously as a rapper and she would have to raise the bar a lot higher to gain my respect for her as a musician. However when you are that good of a tennis player nothing will take away from that!

What do you think?

When Hip Hop Was Positive (Mother Day Edition): 2 Pac "Dear Mama"

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MOTHERS OUT THERE!

Songs like this make me miss Pac the most. Not many rappers get personal and emotional in their music anymore and I think that makes music less "real" and harder to relate to. Pac is one of my favorite artists for the honesty in his music and his ability to use music to truly express himself rather then portray an empty image. He reminds me of a time when Hip Hop Was Positive!

Thanks to all the mothers who raise their kids right!

Video of the Day: Skrillex "First Of The Year"

The video for today is not a Hip Hop video but I'm posting it cause I think it's one of the best videos of the year!

If you like Dubstep you will love this video, if you don't, this might change you mind!

The video is Skrillex and the song is "First Of The Year". Not only do I love the song and love the direction and effects in the video, I think the message is very powerful and shocking. I love the twist in the video and the feeling of justice being served when the video ends.
Let me know what you think about the video in the comment section!
Over 56 million views...wow!

Eric Sermon Speaks: "Breath Of Fresh Air" mixtape

SeeS and Eric Sermon from EPMD
Eric Sermon, Hip Hop pioneer, from EPMD speaks about his new mixtape "Breath Of Fresh Air"! I'm very excited to hear this as he made a mixtape for people who are sick of hearing the same exact stuff with no real content and I am one of those people.

I think rap has departed so much from they way it was created that it takes veterans in the game to remind some of the new rappers how it's done. Eric Sermon holds more credibility to me then almost anyone you hear on the radio and I for one look forward to hearing a "Breath Of Fresh Air"!

Eric Sermon explains his new mixtape:

"The Breath of Fresh Air' was meant to come out for people to have another place to go to for music, to get away from hearing the same exact stuff that they're hearing every day with the same conversation and no type of content," Sermon told SOHH. "Not saying I have a preachy album, but I'm giving you something that's away from the norm. I have my friends on the CD. People I consider friends are Rick Ross, Too Short, Lloyd, Redman and Method Man, of course, 50 Cent and the new guys like Fred the Godson. It was just something that had to be heard because it was music that was missing, in my opinion."

"Artists always talk about a breath of fresh air, it's just meaning that it's something different," Sermon added. "It's something new, different from what you're used to hearing. That's the standpoint I was coming from. I had the idea way before the heart attack. I wasn't working on the project that long. I had the idea but when it came time to put it together, it took me about a month or so because you don't have to worry about going in to the studio with people because everyone has their own studio. For me, friends can make exceptions for friends. I was able to send some of the records through e-mail and they came back quick."

If you are new to hip hop and don't know EPMD, after you get your ass kicked by real hip hop fans, listen to this because "You Gots to Chill"!

Super-producer RZA keyboard featured in Hip Hop Exhibit

SeeS and RZA
Any true fan of Hip Hop will tell you that RZA is one of the most talented and influential producers in the game. Having been a long-time fan and meeting him in person I agree he is one hell of a force to be reckoned with.

RZA's keyboard, that was used in making Wu Tang's debut album "Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)" will be showcased in in an upcoming interactive musical exhibit called "Island Sounds: A 500 Year Music Mash-Up.” This event will take place at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden on Staten Island.

“We are excited and pleased to present this unique exhibit as a tribute to the countless artists who have played a role in Staten Island’s rich and varied musical history,” said Snug Harbor President and CEO Lynn Kelly. “The exhibit memorializes the contributions of these artists and defines the part they played and continue to play in our diversified culture. I urge everyone with an interest in music, pop culture and the history of Staten Island to come and enjoy the hundreds of unique pieces of memorabilia that make up the Island Sounds exhibition.”

Real Hip-Hop: Jadakiss "Without You"

Real Hip-Hop is anything that I would be proud to show anyone as proof that Hip-Hop really is one the the illest art forms!

Here is the video for Jadakiss "Without You". The beat is crazy, I love how I listen to this and feel like Hip Hop is back in the late 90's. Jadakiss speaks the truth. I enjoy listening to his tracks cause there is actually something there that makes sense to listen to. I always argue an artist should be able to switch up his flow pattern over time but Jadakiss is the only artist I give a complete pass on that rule. I love how consistent Jada's flow is, it makes it timeless, he doesn't get better or worse, he is dope and always has been from the first time I heard him on a track.

Drake reenacts his Bat-Mitzvah in "HYFR" Video

I've heard this song on the radio a few times and thought Drake MURDERED the first verse on some next level shit so I decided to to check out the music video and found it interesting to say the least.  He was rapping in a synagogue for his "reenacted" Bat-Mitzvah as the theme. I knew Drake was Jewish and respect him for shinning light on that part of his life and putting it out to the world. I'm not sure if this was the best song or if Lil Wayne (who I'm a fan of) helps achieve that with complete integrity.

Hell Ya Fucking Right, Drake and Lil Wayne (in a panda face mask) rapping about getting high and fucking women at a Bat-Mitzvah party surrounded by white guys dancing...interesting. Let me know what you think about this video.

CT Artist SeeS (S Double E S) Collaborates with Hip Hop Legends, then Gives Track Away for FREE DOWNLOAD

SeeS And Cappadonna

It would be an honor for any artist to get the opportunity to collaborate on an original track with any of the members from Wu Tang. With that said, CT Artist "SeeS" was able to double that honor and get both Cappadonna and Inspectah Deck on the same track. The track was produced by Platinum Producers "Mysto and Pizzi," two up-and-coming producers from NYC that have had a lot of success in recent years, including producing tracks for major artists such as R. Kelly.

The track, titled "What 2 Do", was recorded for SeeS EP "SeeS Control", and although the track appears on the CD, SeeS decided to give the track away to his fans for FREE. You can download the song at SeeS official website www.seeshiphop.com or at his Reverbnation Fan Page, www.reverbnation.com/sees09.

If you are a Wu Tang fan this track is a Must-Download. SeeS encourages fans to download the track, share it, burn it, upload it to blogs/sites, and put it on mixtapes. "I made this track for my fans, this track is theirs, they shouldn't have to buy it" -SeeS

For more information on SeeS please visit his official website, www.seeshiphop.com or email him at sees09@hotmail dot com. You can find him on Facebook at www.facebook.com/sees09.

SeeS Speaks: "Get Mad" off the "SeeS No Evil" Mixtape

Art fuels REVOLUTION!

It's important artists harness the power of art to convey messages they feel deserve the attention of their fans. This was the motive behind my mix-tape track "Get Mad"in which I wanted to highlight the importance of political awareness but more importantly action. Like it has been said, all that needs to happen for bad people to succeed if for good people to do nothing, which is why I refuse to do nothing!

This track is my reaction to the "Orwellian" big brother type of government in which I fear will and has endangered our privacy as well as constitutional rights. I don't have the solutions for all the problems this country faces but I think it is important to be informed and to "GET MAD"and get motivated to speak out. This track also supports the movement behind Wall Street and the 99% who have been taken advantage of by major corporations more interested in personal profit then overall prosperity for the country. My philosophy is simple, "We all are better off, when we are all better off"!

The instrumental for the track is an industry track which I used for my mix-tape "SeeS No Evil", and the sample in the beginning of the song comes from the "Network", a play you should look up if you are not familiar with it.  All my lyrics are original as always! Let me know what you think!

Is there still room for some conscience music?
